Verdict

The Voice Caddie SC200 Plus measures four numbers and needs 5 feet behind the ball, which makes it a practice aid rather than a simulator component.

It reports carry, swing speed, ball speed and smash factor, and nothing about the ball’s direction or spin. That is enough to work on distance control and nothing like enough to drive a simulated course, so the cheap price is buying a smaller job rather than a worse version of the same one.

Golf Sim Oracle tracks the published space requirement for every launch monitor it covers, and the Voice Caddie Swing Caddie SC200 Plus is the cheapest and the most limited here. Voice Caddie's product page, read 2026-08-09, gives one placement figure: the unit sits 5 ft behind the ball on the same level as the ball. No ceiling height and no ball-to-net distance are published. The specification list is otherwise unusually complete for the price. Voice Caddie states a Doppler radar sensor operating on K Band at 24 GHz, a measuring range of 30 yds to 320 yds, four AAA batteries giving up to 20 hours depending on conditions, dimensions of 3" x 5.9" x 0.98" and a weight of 206 g. What it reports is the limiting factor rather than the space it needs. The SC200 Plus measures carry distance, swing speed, ball speed and smash factor, and nothing about the ball's direction or spin, so there is no ball flight for simulator software to render. At $149.99 it is a distance-control practice aid, not a component of a simulator build.

Measured against calculated

A measured number comes off the sensor. A calculated one is derived from the measured ones. They print in the same font on a results screen and they are not worth the same, which is why the split is worth reading before you compare metric counts between two units.

Who this is wrong for

Anyone building a simulator. Without spin and direction there is no ball flight to render, so this cannot be the sensor behind a screen.
